All Natural Body Butter
Last night I made a nice big batch of Body Butter. It’s
ridiculously easy and you can rest easy that it is all
natural and safe for your family (even babies and the
super-sensitives).
Here is the basic recipe:
1 Cup Olive Oil
A few teaspoons shredded beeswax (you can get this
at craft shops or health stores)
1 Cup Chamomile Tea (cold)
A few drops of Vitamin E oil (you can get it in liquid
form or capsules that you can break open at your local
drug store or health store)
Put the olive oil and beeswax in a double boiler until the
beeswax is melted. Remove from heat and whisk in
cold tea. Once that is cooled add the vitamin E oil and
stir again. Pour into small jars for yourself or decorate
them for gifts. The vitamin E oil acts as a preservative,
but you should refrigerate the portion that you are
not using right away.
Variations:
- Use almond or other nut oils.
- Add lanolin if you can get your hands on it. This is a
fat that occurs naturally in wool which promotes
healing.
- Use any kind of herbal teas like green or mint etc.
